Skin Tightening Q & A

What is the Sciton SkinTyte II?

Sciton SkinTyte II is a skin tightening system that produces firmer and more youthful looking skin. The SkinTyte II system employs infrared technology to bring the targeted tissues up to the proper heat level for effective treatment while still leaving the surrounding areas cool and undamaged. The process is designed to bring about soft tissue coagulation that encourages the body to start healing itself, which results in firmer skin.

What size areas can be treated with Sciton SkinTyte II?

The Sciton SkinTyte II can treat any size area, from small to large. The spot size (15 x 45) and the ultra-fast repetition rate allow for fast treatment of even larger areas. For small areas, adapters can be used in 3 different sizes for the ultimate precision. Patients can have the Sciton SkinTyte II treatment on their face, their neck, their abdomen, or other areas where sagging and loose skin is a concern.

How does the temperature regulation work?

The Sciton SkinTyte II has a thermoelectric monitoring mechanism that allows it to maintain temperatures ranging from 0 to 30 degrees C depending on the patient's needs. The sapphire crystal and sensors combine to allow for perfect temperature regulation while keeping the patient completely comfortable for the entire treatment.

What is recovery like after the Sciton SkinTyte II treatment?

Recovery is easy -- in fact, most patients are able to return to their usual routine immediately if they wish to. Since the Sciton SkinTyte II treatment is nonsurgical, patients don't have to recover from anesthesia. Most people have no pain during the actual procedure and will rarely experience any side effects after the treatment. Mild to moderate swelling and redness in the treatment area is possible, but this generally abates quite quickly over the days following the procedure.
